The Lunch Bx started after a lengthy discussion with my roommate in Manhattan. I was venting frustration about the way my friends and I were being represented when creating our art in New York. As a black artist, I desired a space that would showcase the full spectrum of the artist and the work they created. After doing research, I discovered the representation for artists of color where we had ownership of our words was severely lacking, so I decided to create my own.
The time has come for us to create a platform for our voices to be heard. The Lunch Bx is dedicated to showcasing our art, our dreams, and our culture.
"This is for us."
